Unlike many eCommerce platforms, WebLinc Direct can “live” anywhere. If your company already has hosting capabilities it's comfortable with, there's no need to change. However, if hosting is a service you require, WebLinc can provide top of the line managed hosting via dedicated servers to run your site.
WebLinc is fortunate to have the ability to provide its clients with Tier-One, world-class hosting through its hosting partner, SunGard. This is not a subcontracting situation; rather WebLinc leases space from SunGard in a facility that's staffed 24/7 and provides hosting for sites that receive millions of daily visitors.
The following features and services are included with a WebLinc Managed Hosting contract:
- Installation – WebLinc will install your materials, including server, operating system and software in connection with the delivery of the website.
- Internet Server Management – WebLinc will be responsible for the supply, operation and maintenance of the site including access to the Internet and network software required.
- Monitoring – The hosting site will be staffed 7 days per week 24 hours per day, to monitor the connection to the Internet. We will provide 24 x 7 monitoring to the web server, application server, and database server to verify uptime. This monitoring occurs in five-minute intervals. The maximum amount of downtime that could occur before notification would be approximately 5.5 minutes.
- Internet Connection – Initially, WebLinc will provide bandwidth up to a shared 8.0 Mb connection to the Internet. As with all settings, should demand exceed the specifications, bandwidth can be increased automatically.
- Software Services – WebLinc is responsible for acquiring all necessary software licenses, operating system patches and virus protection updates.
- Server Backup – WebLinc will perform nightly backups of all servers.
